“Your Mother Lies”, A Short Film That Thrills

This short, which seeks to honor all mothers in Mexico, has the capacity to be inclusive. He represents and effectively reaches every mother in the country. It even crossed barriers. “Your mother lies” is a simple phrase that shows what mothers are capable of doing for their children.
“But she doesn’t just lie to you, she also lies about her own needs. You lie when you say you don’t mind getting up early. And it has always been like that, from day one”, says the voice of the narrator while in the video there is a mother awake and not moving so as not to wake up her baby sleeping lying on her body and another mother getting up early to take her child to school.

“Like that time she told you she liked adventures. Or is it not true that she always says you are the best? What’s more, she lies so well that even her face is lying. You certainly grew up thinking you were the prettiest in the class”, says the narrator.
Here, the images that appear are important: a mother suffering while riding a rollercoaster, a child arriving late from a soccer game with mothers in the background, the mother suffering and – even so – pretending to be happy with the arrival of the first love of the his son, a not-so-pretty young man being praised by his mother.
This emotional tribute tells all the benevolent lies that mothers tell their little ones – and the not so little ones – in order to protect them, fill their fantasy world and avoid any kind of suffering, which everyone will necessarily do without early warning.

“Your lies go beyond anything. She is able to deceive time and disease because, even so, she never surrenders: she is always on her feet, always fighting. She lies because it’s not easy. Lie so that the world’s problems don’t cross the door of your house,” says the voice of the short’s narrator.
