With this, serenity has to do with someone’s personality, that is, a person can have a serene personality. But at the same time, serenity also refers to a capacity that can be developed and exercised, that is, a person can learn to act calmly in different situations.

Both in situations of everyday life, as in tense, complicated or difficult circumstances, serenity or the fact of being a serene person will allow us to  think before acting impulsively or motivated by our emotions.

Therefore, through serenity and self-control, a person can master the impulses that would lead them to act irrationally in situations, thus achieving:

  • Learn from problems.
  • Don’t hurt other people  by behaving or saying things without thinking.

For this reason, it is essential to learn to be a serene person or to be able to act with serenity in the face of adversities and typical problems of the fast-paced life we ​​lead.

Therefore, it is important to convey to our children and students the value of serenity. And that means  teaching them to develop attitudes of tranquility and calm in the face of difficult, new, or unfamiliar circumstances. Or when faced with specific moments, dramatic or dangerous, that demand an attitude of temperance and tranquility.

For this, children and young people must learn to:

  • Analyze and think before acting, evaluating all possible consequences.
  • Keep calm in the face of dangerous or unforeseen situations  and always ask for help.
  • Relativize everything, giving things the importance they really have.
  • Control your breathing to relax in stressful situations.
  • Be patient, because everything has its time.  Problems can have more than one solution and this is not always immediate.
  • Evaluate different options and solutions before acting.
  • Listen to the opinions and views of others.
