4 crafts to make in the summer

These are some of the fun crafts to make in the summer that will allow you to spend quality time with your family:

1. Decoration shells

The first proposal is a great idea to entertain the little ones. The technique is inspired by mosaic, in a medium of modeling clay that hardens in air. All you need is modeling clay, seashells of different sizes and shapes, a wooden stick, ribbon, varnish and a brush.

To proceed with your realization, you must start by shaping the dough in the shape you choose to create a support. So, you have to cover the edges with the shells without deforming the base. Once everything is in place, adjust the set as best as possible and then drill a hole with the wooden stick.

Then let it dry and apply a coat of varnish. Finally, cross a rope to suspend the creation, which will add a touch of summer charm to the decoration of the house.

2. Boat with water bottles

To create a toy boat for kids, you need a shoebox lid, two water bottles, a toothpick, cloth, electrical tape, and a boat. The first step is to make the cardboard waterproof. For this, it must be completely covered with electrical tape.

Afterwards, you must gather the empty bottles, always using the tape. Then fold the fabric to form a triangle. Glue the fabric and cut what is left. You can add a small flag.

To make the candle, take a square of fabric, a wooden toothpick and glue. Wrap one side of the fabric around the edge and glue it together completely. Finally, make a small hole in the barge. Slide the mast and sail and, in addition, attach the tip of the toothpick to a small piece of cork.

3. House for the birds

An empty juice box or milk carton is a perfect starting point for this project. At the same time, reuse is another good way to teach children about the importance of caring for the environment.

You simply take the box and create an opening at the bottom, like a door, so the birds can enter your cozy home.

Children can have fun collecting twigs and small leaves and even moss and dried flowers to stick on the outside of the cardboard box. This will make it more welcoming to the birds.

Finally, drill a small hole in the top and connect to a sturdy cable or strong fishing rope to hang the feeder from a nice branch. Hang it preferably in a place where children can look at it through a window in the house.

Collect 24 small, rounded stones of approximately the same size. Then ask your children to pick their two favorite colors and paint half of the stones one color and the other half the other. They can be creative and make one set striped and the other dotted, for example.

Then help them draw a grid of 16 x 16 squares on a small, square piece of wood, recycled cardboard, or cardboard so they can paint a chessboard.

Kids will really enjoy making their own board game. Furthermore, the use of natural resources for this makes the project even more memorable and fun.
